Inappropriate Songs for my (Imaginary) Wedding
Although I'm not planning on getting married any time soon, I lot of my friends are tying the knot at the moment. I'm always interested about their choice of song for their first dance which got me thinking of different songs I would want. It turns out that
- Thriller by Michael Jackson (and yes, of course it would involve the proper dance)
- Big Star by Reel Big Fish
- Hypnotize by the White Stripes
- Business Time by Flight of the Conchords
- Danger! High Voltage by Electric Six

Well, if I married my current fella, I'd probably shoot stars out of my eyes if our first song was to the Magnetic Fields "Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits." Which is horribly innocent sounding, but really about how much sex bunnies have. Hah! (It became "our" song after a friend joked we were leaving the bar to go be bunnies. We were really just bored.)
My wedding would TOTALLY include "Thriller." And there would probably be a second reception that was nothing but my favorite bar night full of 80s and electro music.
Awesome and awesome. I have big fantasies involving Fat Boy Slim's "Praise You" with the accompanying dance.
The Scorpions "Rock You Like A Hurricane", one of my favourite songs ever. Unfortunately, I find myself suddenly single so even a hypothetical wedding seems unimaginable right now..
That ... is a great question :O To which I don't have an answer for right now.
I have a friend who always said if he could find a girl who would walk down the aisle to The Bitch Song by Bowling for Soup, he'd know he found the one.
Every Wednesday I've been going up to my partner and saying "You know what time it is? It's business time." and I'll pull up my socks. If I could have that at the slow dance, that would be spicking awesome!
P.S Bridey, now I found where you've been blogging all this time!
ooops. here we go again.
We danced to a remixed (by us) version of You Are My Sunshine. It rocked. Literally. The recording of my and my sweeties slightly off-kilter voices kooing, was a wedding gift from my super duper bro (aka tr plus tr).
