Songs That Make Me Want To Break Up With Someone, Like, Yesterday
For someone of my thorny disposition and proclivity for searing infatuation, I have surprisingly little break-up experience. Which is a shame, because if I had enough material to make a break-up movie, it would have a kickass soundtrack. Shall we?

"You're My Mate," Right Said Fred: One of the most irrepressibly bouncy songs I've ever heard and, more important, a reminder that whatever you've lost, you've still got a circle of kickass friends just waiting to buy you a few drinks and say, "Hey, enough about him, let's talk about you."
"So What," P!nk: A rock star, dude. A friggin' rock star.
"Breakin' Up," Rilo Kiley: The music video's half the joy of this one. Watch that and just tell me it doesn't want to make you go on a few perfect dates with a dude then break up with him because you "need more time in my life to watch Woody Allen movies."
Okay, I haven't actually broken up with a guy to watch Woody Allen movies but, fun fact, I did once start dating a guy with the intention of breaking up with him that way. Then spent the entire break-up blasting Postal Service. What're your favorite break-up tunes?

Well, NSYNC's "Bye, Bye, Bye" is definitely up there. Hah...kidding.
Cee Lo's "F**k You" is a pretty infectious, uber-succinct way of expressing breakup feelings. My ex drove a pickup truck, so, I um, definitely gave Taylor Swift's "Picture to Burn" a bit too many listens.
Self sufficiently embarrassed, gonna go now.

Sweet Christ, that Right Said Fred song...I had to stop less than thirty seconds in. I'm fairly certain I'd be singing it to myself from now 'til eternity if I hadn't.
I concur with the No Doubt mentioned above.
My favorite one ever is "Scotty Doesn't Know" from that Eurotrip movie. Not sure why it works so well, but its really fun to scream at the top of your lungs while driving in your car with your best girl friend.

OH, yes!!! I am sorely tempted to break up with my husband when I hear Rock Star. Perhaps the greatest day of 2009 was when my friend broke up with her boyfriend and I played her that song and it was AWESOME!!
That video pretty much made my day. I'd like to go run and dance in a field now. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to overcome this urge.
